  1. Good job taking a bunch of images from another site and posting them on yours.

All your hard work astounds me.

  3. um... there are thousands of real life jobs where algebra is used. for example: you work at mcdonald's and the calculator on the computer breaks. Someone gives you 10 dollars for a bill of $9.58. How much change to give them? 10=x+9.58 solve for x. JUST AS THE MOST BASIC EXAMPLE, since mcdonald's is probably where you're going to work the rest of your life!!!!!

  4. Uhm....yeah...take a joke...KTHNXBAI

  5. If the computer breaks at McDonald's, they shut the restaurant down. True facts. Been there, done that.
Also, basic math. Anything taught in an algebra really will never be used. And if it is, you're allowed to use a calculator.

  6. algebra - specifically quadratics, used in determining the areas of complex polygons ie yards of most homes and urban planning ie ie landscaping and civil engineering. oh plus this whole blog post was shamelessly ripped-off from graphjam.com - thumbs down.

  7. 10=x+9.58
Really? Wouldn't it be easier to say 10-9.58=.42?
    That's not algebra, it's subtraction.
What the hell does "KTHXBAI" mean?
Actually, I know exactly what it means, but clearly English 101 was not your strong suit. Why are people so fucking lazy? "Okay. Thanks, bye." See, it's not that hard. As a matter of fact 'BAI' even has the same number of letters. Why is 'BAI' easier than 'bye'?
Apparently it's not even laziness that is the problem, it's ignorance.

  8. you use geometry to find area
    not algebra

  9. i thought it was really cool and funny

  10. Weez, it's not ignorance, it's internet culture.

  11. whoever is honestly wasting their time arguing about the practical use of algebra needs to get off the computer a little more often

  12. Dear internet users. You use algebra everyday, but the only job that algebra ever matters in is being an algebra teacher. When a question is in the form of a word problem (like a daily occurence), your brain simplifies it automatically...unless of course you work at McDonald's. If someone gives you a $10 and you don't have a calculator, you type it into the screen in front of you. Fast food managers don't trust you to do math, they hired you for your time, not your brains you hippopotamic land mass! And to the person who said finding area is geometry, you use algebra in geometry. Good try though. These graphs are meant to be funny, if you never thought it was funny listening to people complain about not being able to do simple algebraic math, you aren't getting the joke because you are the joke. :)

  14. People are pretty ill informed if they think Algebra is useless.
"Also, basic math. Anything taught in an algebra really will never be used. And if it is, you're allowed to use a calculator."
Anything that uses calculus uses algebra every single day. Physics researchers in quantum mechanics use algebra every single day. Engineers, chemists, you name it, they all use algebra. The problem is when you teach algebra like it's the be all end all of mathematics. It's really just a tool that exploited to do calculus.
As a physics student, I really enjoy math, but no one enjoys algebra. It's just a tool, it's not what math is about. Calculus is, however.

  16. You're all retarded for arguing on the int4rwebs.

  17. I laughed just as much at the stupidity of the comments than the actual images... it may have been a repost but was still funny!

  18. Wow, I can really relate to that. :-) LOL

  21. I've been stumbling on the interwebs for a while now, and I gotta say that these comments were some of the most hilariously sad things I have ever read.

  22. Yeah the comments are way better than the graphs. Is Algebra gonna read this and cry? Who the hell are you trying to defend? Ya'll are stupid lol.
    4/20 friendly :)

  24. Made me laugh. I'm up for some criticism today. Please tell me how stupid that makes me. Then I'll laugh again as you all try to one up each other about how stupid that makes me.

  25. Good job being a DICK.

  26. You have no idea how much I'm frustrated when what the second to last graph shows happens. That is the truest thing ever. Glad I found something I could relate to.

  27. I think it is really sad that there are people in the world who think algebra is "useless", "hard", or "stupid". I feel sorry for you...
I'd also like to point out the irony of people taking the time to post comments arguing that it is stupid to argue about algebra :)
